For most of us our loved ones traveled across the country and put their lives on hold for us to pursue our MBA's and it can be hard to meet new people in the area. This Friday at 5:30 my wife Abbie, myself and our two boys Jack (4) and Leo (2) are hosting a picnic at Mercer Park in Iowa City for MBA's and their spouses, kids, significant others. We hope you'll join us and meet other families in the MBA program. We will take care of drinks, appetizers and sides. Bring your own meat or veggie option, I'll be running the grill so be ready to see some Food Network level grilling. Single? This event is open to all MBA's so we'd love to see you there even if you are riding solo.

September 22, 2016 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Location: Englert Theatre (221 E Washington St.)

Do not leave B-school without some exposure to digital marketing measurement tools; especially a platform as widely used as Google. All marketing students should plan to attend the Social Brand Forum’s Google Analytics Fundamentals session with Andy Crestodina of Orbit Media. Tickets are required for this 1:30 – 2:30 event at the Englert Theatre. What's Andy Speaking About?  Google Analytics Fundamentals: How to Measure What Matters For Your Business Most marketers are using Google Analytics wrong. Or, perhaps you aren't using it to its full potential. Luckily, Andy Crestodina can help you with both at Social Brand Forum 2016. Little decisions today can cause big Analytics problems down the road. Some decisions and settings affect your marketing and measurement far into the future, making it harder to get the insights you need for good decisions. Asking a few simple questions that — if answered up front — will make ongoing measurement and marketing easier. Through simple, relevant examples, Andy will show you how to look at your site from the Analytics perspective. You’ll gain practical insights into how websites can be structured for social media and content marketing success and how to setup Analytics properly once and for all. Who is Andy? Andy is a co-founder of Orbit Media, an award winning, 35-person web design company in Chicago. Over the past 15 years, Andy has provided web strategy and marketing advice to more than 1,000 businesses. Andy has written hundreds of articles on topics including search optimization, social media, Analytics, and content strategy. He is also the author of Content Chemistry: The Illustrated Handbook for Content Marketing.
